Dubbing actors: A profession apart

In France, dubbing actors are increasingly recognized. Some of them have a voice that is inseparable from a particular American actor. This is the case for Benoit Allemande (Morgan Freeman), Richard Darbois (Harrison Ford, Danny Glover, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum) or even Patrick Poivey (Bruce Willis).

These actors and others took part in the exercise of dubbing authentic French actors in the short film We got overtaken! . In the documentary The legendary dubbing voices“, the dubbing actors talk about their first audition, their way of perceiving the profession, their way of doing things.
