Located in the center of Lille on rue de Béthune, the Majestic is a cinema with retro decoration, reminiscent of the 80s style. It is a place where you can discover recent but less popular films. There are also screenings of independent films which rarely show in multiplexes.
The Majestic offers once a month, generally the first Friday of the month, a double program Good chic, bad kind, on a specific theme.
The first film claims to be serious while the second film is a film that is either banned in theaters, cheesy or almost forgotten. a costume competition is organized and the person lucky enough to win is offered one or two DVDs from a director on the theme of the evening. But it happens that the two films are equal in terms of production, or even that they are as popular as the other.
This time, it’s an evening called “Japan Extrême”. A double program devoted to rare and delirious transgressive cinema.
