Welcome to La Piqure De Rappel, the blog that allows you to follow my cinematographic adventures!

The logo comes from the film A Trip to the Moon which is a French science fiction short film written, produced and directed by Georges Méliès based on the works From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne (1865) and The First Men in the Moon by HG Wells (The First Men in the Moon, 1901), released September 1, 1902.

My passion for cinema dates back to when I first saw Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark at the cinema when I was around 8-10 years old. It was an experience that shaped my genre as well as my fascination with cinema. StarsWars having happened then, adventure and science fiction films were the first two genres that I liked.

Since then, I have been able to see an infinite number of films at the cinema, each one more exciting than the last. Sometimes intriguing, sometimes captivating, each film I go to see in the cinema reserves its share of surprises, whether satisfactory or not.

Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan and Night Shyamalan are among the directors who speak to me through their inventiveness of direction or abundant ideas. As for composers, John Williams or Hans Zimmer come first in my playlist.

I'm Olivier, better known under the nickname CodeUtah, and I share with you my favorites and rants about cinema.

Good reading.
